Generally, we like this bed very much. It is as pictured, so no big surprises. Areas for improvement include:- more easily being able to install the slide on either side (switch the slide and ladder positions more easily -- I'd wrongly assumed they would be interchangable).- curving the metal at the corners and edges of the bed (similar to the way the slides guard rail is curved)- increasing the length of the slide's guardrail (there's a good ~6-8 inch gap between the bed and rail and my 6 year old is a little too scared to use it by himself since it's difficult to reach down and hold it. Though if you have a braver kid than me, that won't be a problem!)- include some sort of plastic or rubber washer with the screws (the bed squeaks quite a bit whenever you move around in it).- use thicker metal for the ladder steps (the steps are so thin that I personally find it a little uncomfortable using them)Some things that have worked out well:- it was pretty easy to build- it's elevated enough that we could put storage shelves underneath- it's not so high to be scary for the kiddo- the guard rail (or roll rail) on the bed is there and does its job- its weight capacity can hold me and my kid so we can snuggle togetherOverall, I'm glad we bought this bed.I really like it. It's very cute for a child's bedroom. The supports for the mattress are infuriating to assemble. Finally got it though. The trick is to assemble them with the supports running vertically (like railings to a porch). Otherwise, trying to assemble with them on floor causes the supports to keep falling out and will make you loose your mind. ?. If you can make it past that, it isn't a bad bed to assemble. We bought this twin bed for our 5 year old. I love that its not too tall. I'm 5'6 and it's perfect height for bed time kisses. He loves the slide, even though it's not very long or very steep. I would have liked to have the ladder steps a bit wider for little feet, or even coated in a padding. The rungs are the same square tubing as the rest of the construction. I do also love the under bed area. Not tall enough to stand under. My kiddo did hit his head the first time under it, and the metal is not covered or padded. But I could fix that with pool noodles or something. The slide also only attaches to the one side. You can't swap the ladder part with the slide part, so you're stuck with it as is unless you drill holes. All in all, I was pretty please with this purchase, and my kiddo loves it!I bought this for my four, ten, and fifteen year old for when we sleep over at my moms house every weekend and it works great! They all very comfortably go to bed in it. I was very hesitant at first but it turned out to be a great purchase for us!It’s okay... but I was surprised at how heavy the boxes were, due to the weight of the slide. They must have trouble with their packaging, because I bought for the girls, and both arrived dented and needed some tlc to make work. The alternative was to pay out of pocket shipping costs, plus restocking fee, which I calculated at about a $90 refund. The length from the slide to the back of the bed is 8ft, very long to two kids sharing a room. The beds themselves were fairly easy to put together, but shorter than a standard bunk. The space underneath is too short for even a drawing desk for the kids, but could fit a toy trunk if you had one.As I finally put the beds together, I learned that parts were missing, and one slide is so bent at the attachment portion, I’ll have to get creative on how to pry it open to use. I wish I’d paid more attention to the dimensions and compared those more rather than just number of stars rated.Love the bed ! Not too difficult to assemble. However I purchased the white one and it seems like the cardboard may have stained it so I had to deep clean it before putting it together and even then there were some stains I was unable to removeProduct is sturdy and give many sleeping optionsInstructions were awful. Once finally put together the slide did not line up with the holes correctly. It is adorable though if it would have gone together correctly.
