Ordered this item on a Tuesday afternoon expecting to get it on Monday. FedEx delivered it 2 days later, with standard free shipping.The headboard is light and easy enough to unpack. The knobs simply screw in. All done in about 10 minutes.Nice matte black finish works great with the rest of my furniture and gives the perfect feel I was looking for in my bedroom. It doesn't look or feel bulky at all.The screws are long so I would recommend putting them in with the head of the screw facing the box spring as another reviewer mentioned otherwise you could end up with a rip in your box spring.The legs that get screwed into the frame do not exactly match my frame so I had to use the secondary holes and the legs sit about half an inch off the floor. No biggie I guess since you won't really see it.CONS:The headboard does not fit snugly on the legs. There is about an inch of space where the headboard should slide down and rest on the lip of the support leg but it doesn't and there is no way to force it. This will no doubt make it a bit wobbly for some. In turn the headboard is a bit higher than expected and I ended up moving the large painting above my bed up a few inches so they won't scrape on each other.I suspect that since the headboard does not slide all the way down, there will be some movement which may cause the nuts to slip over time and require occasional tightening.OVERALL:I would recommend it if you are looking for a product to give a bedroom a quick sprucing up and don't want to spend a ton of money. I would have given it a 5 star rating if the headboard were able to slide all the way into position on the legs.As usual, when I look at Amazon reviews I look at the 4/5 star reviews as well as 1/2 star reviews as it gives me the best pros and cons of any given item. At the time I purchased this, there were fourteen 4/5 star reviews and just one 2 star review. Majority of the purchasers like myself thought this item was a good price and more importantly that it looked nice and not cheap.So I was curious why there was a lone 2 star review. She complained that, "It is 3 1/2 inches too wide.", but I think she might have had a queen size thinking she owned a king size bed. I have two king size beds with metal bed frames in my house and I tried to put this headboard on both frames and it fit without any issues. This might deter other people from purchasing this item so I wanted to make sure people knew that this fits a king size frame.Now as far as putting this together, it was very easy. It came in a large rectangular slender box, but everything inside was wrapped and there was no damage to the item. It obviously came with all the tools needed (screws, nuts, tool) and I was able to put this together in less than 10 minutes. It was so easy even a cave man could do it (or cave woman).I would definitely recommend this to others needing a simple, elegant, and affordable headboard.*EDIT : 2013-02-18*Another buyer asked me for some specific details regarding the height of this bed frame so I thought it would be helpful to include that in this review as well. Hope this helps.From the bottom of the metal rod to the horizontal bar is 28 inches. Bottom rod to lower curved bar above the horizontal bar is 42 inches. Bottom rod to the higher curved bar is 46 inches. The highest point of the headboard is the two rounded points on the far right and far left side which is about 49 inches from the bottom of the headboard.Exactly what I wanted! It’s hard to find a tall wrought iron headboard, I still wanted to be able to see the majority of the headboard when all my pillows were sitting up, and this one is great! Came in great condition, no dents or dings, and super easy to assemble, but I did need a rubber mallet to get the legs together. It doesn’t exactly fit my bed frame that I already had, so it sits like a 1/4” above the floor but the bolts are so tight it doesn’t wobble or anything. Took about 20 minutes total (if even that) to get to attached and put together. I was a little worried about the noise hitting the wall, even just crawling on my bed and sitting back against it, it hit the wall, so I actually just grabbed some felt pads that you would put on the feet of furniture and but then on the wall where the two posts hit and now you never hear a thing and it doesn’t hit the wall at all. Before putting the felt pads on, I saw it did leave a small black mark when it hit the wall, which actually helped and made placement of the pads easy! I couldn’t be happier with it! It’s exactly what I wanted, and I love it!After selling our sleigh bed frame, we cast about for a headboard more in keeping with our smaller bedroom. This one seemed to fit the bill, but one never knows until it arrives. I'm happy to say that it's perfect for us. The flat black finish is unobtrusive, as is the size of the piece. It was ridiculously easy to put together and fit our standard king perfectly. Just make sure you have the bolt holes facing 90 degrees to the headboard or you're going to have a heck of a time getting the leg extensions off again to realign them.The cons: There's always at least one, isn't there? The mounting instructions call for the bolts to be inserted with the head on the exterior of the frame, and the nut on the box spring side. Unfortunately, the threads on the bolt extend too far past the frame and come in contact with the fabric on the box spring. Over time, this will cause a tear in the fabric. So I installed them from the inside out instead. One could also purchase shorter bolts.Also, there are no lock washers included with the parts, only flat washers. This means that over time the nuts will loosen and require tightening. I installed my own lock washers.Those are both minor problems that are easily cured and do not detract from the overall quality of the product.very easily put together by myself and to mount to the steel frame of my bed. Tools were included. I was not sure how the finish would be but I really like the looks of it. I'd recommend anyone picking up this headboard. I only need to tighten the screws every 4-5mon. No big deal--I could thread-lock them I guess.Got it a day earlier than expected in perfect condition. Sturdy and exactly as pictured. Mounted easily.
